The Edsel, Built on a Mercury

In the 1950's - decades before the minivan and SUV - family vehicles were ruled by the station wagon. The 1958 Edsel, built atop a Mercury frame, was one of the more popular models. Originally a flop, this car has grown to be a sought after collector's item.

When the writers at CNET took the all new LINCOLN MKZ Hybrid out for a test drive, they were not concerned with heading to a race course. Nope, there wasn't a time trial, a 0 - 60 speed recording or twists and turns around the track.

CNET wanted to test maximum miles per gallon range, as well as the range of MKZ's electric motor.

Ford Adds Fourth 40 MPG Vehicle

Ford recently announced plans for an additional vehicle in their upcoming 2011 line up that will achieve 40 miles per gallon. This brings the total of Ford vehicles achieving at least 40 mpg to four, which is more than any other automaker. "We are bringing customers the most fuel-efficient product portfolio in Ford's 107-year history, and customers are taking notice," said Derrick Kuzak, Ford group vice president, Global Product Development.
