2018 Ford Flex Review

The Ford Flex debuted in 2009 and stayed virtually unchanged. There's a reason for that-the Ford Flex has always been one of the most versatile crossovers on the market. Regardless of updates, the Ford Flex is still a great choice for people with large families or a lot of cargo.

If you're interested in a Ford Flex in Stroudsburg, Lehigh Valley or Nazareth, PA, check out this review to find out what the Flex has to offer in terms of performance, comfort and reliability.

Ford Flex Trim Features

Base model SE includes rear parking sensors, heated side mirrors, keyless-entry, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, power driver seat, 60/40-split folding second-row seats and 50/50-split folding third-row seats.

Next up, the SEL adds upgraded brakes, fog lights, remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a 10-way power driver seat and the Sync 3 infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto smartphone integration.

The Limited adds xenon headlights, LED tail lights, automatic wipers, ambient lighting, a navigational system, and power-folding mirrors.

Additional packages are available for the SEL and Limited trims that include interior upgrades and advanced-safety features.

2018 Ford Flex Performance

The 2018 Ford Flex has an optional 365-horsepower turbocharged EcoBoost V6 and all-wheel drive, which gives it power and traction. With a 6.2-second 0-60 time, the Flex is one of the quickest crossovers on the market.

In addition, the Flex offers a six-speed transmission and a strong powertrain. The brakes are reliable and, despite its size, the Flex's steering is light and responsive. This is all backed up by an effective braking system that scores well in emergency brake tests.

Ford Flex Interior Dimensions

The Flex is still a great choice for space. Not only does it offer plenty of head and legroom, but it also has perfect seat height to allow easy entry and exit, as well as third row access. Both driver and passengers have plenty of space to feel comfortable.

Ford gave some thought to visibility. The hood length is easy to feel, and rear visibility is easier with a rearview camera and large side mirrors. There are few blind spots.

Ford Flex Cargo

The Flex's box shape and flat load floor are personal for carrying cargo. All the seats fold to allow optimal storage capacity, and even just the third row stowed offers plenty of space.

For a low-profile trailer or boat, the Flex can comfortably haul and maintain speed without being dragged down by its weight. It's perfect for small hauls around town.

2018 Ford Flex Technology

One change to the Flex over the years has been its tech. It's equipped with the new Sync 3 infotainment system that is well above its previous versions. It also uses touch control for climate and audio functions.
