2022 Bronco: A Lot of Performance Decisions to Make

Everyone has their own idea of what the perfect SUV is. Ford worked to help you achieve your own ideal version of the Bronco by offering abundant performance options. Perhaps most impressive is the ability to pick between an automatic or manual transmission-a rare option in modern SUVs.

The automatic is a 10-speed unit, while the manual is a 7-speed. The next decision to be made is the engine. Your two options include:

  • 2.3L generating 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque
  • 2.7L generating 330 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque

Both of these figures are dependent upon premium fuel. Without premium fuel, the 2.3L produces 275 horsepower and 315 lb-ft of torque, while the 2.7L produces 315 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. The Raptor trim of the Bronco receives a high-output 3.0L V6.

Finally, there comes the matter of towing capacity. If you have the Ford Bronco equipped in the 4-door body style with the automatic transmission, Class II Trailer Tow Package, and 3.0L motor, your SUV will reach 4,500 pounds of maximum towing!

2022 Bronco: Trim Level Variations

Before picking your trim level, you have to determine if you want your Bronco in a 2-door or 4-door format. The 2-door comes standard with a hardtop. The 4-door comes standard with a soft top, but you can option for a hardtop if you prefer.

As for trim levels, there are eight on the list for 2022, starting with the Base and followed up by the Big Bend and Black Diamond. The rest climb in order from:

  • Outer Banks
  • Badlands
  • Wildtrak
  • Everglades
  • Raptor

These trims offer their own set list of features, including styling, technology, off-roading capability, and more. There is also a plethora of specific Ford packages you can add to any trim, such as:

  • Sasquatchâ„¢ package
  • Lux package
  • High package
  • Mid package
