"How To" Safety Videos
With the continued influx of driver-assistance technology in modern vehicles, our team at Ray Price Stroud Ford thought some "How To" videos would go a long way towards keeping you up to date. Many of the driver-assistance features focus on safety, which is what we'll be dealing with on this page.
Acting as a copilot, these systems keep you aware and alert during your daily travels around East Stroudsburg, Stroudsburg, Lehigh Valley, Nazareth, and Easton. Are you ready to learn how these systems can improve your safety and security? Let's get started!
A Top IIHS Crash Test - Body Completely Intact
1. 360-Degree Camera with Split-View Display
Use your dashboard-mounted touchscreen to access the 360-Degree Camera with Split-View Display. Not only does this camera show what's directly behind your Ford, but it'll even show you a bird-eye's view of what's around your vehicle. That way, you can be fully aware of what's around you on all sides as you're backing in and out of tight spaces! Plus, the colored guidelines give you an idea of how close you are to an object.
2. Enhanced Active Park Assist with Side Sensing System
Once you find a suitable parking spot, Enhanced Active Park Assist steps in to help guide you into the space. While you shift, accelerate, and brake, this system will focus on steering. It'll even get you out of a tight parking space, too.
With the Side Sending System, you'll receive an alert when it senses an object close to your vehicle.
3. Cross-Traffic Alert
As you're reversing, the system will look out for any obstacles that might be approaching the rear of your Ford. For instance, if another vehicle is nearing you as you're backing out, you'll get an audible alert! That way, you can safely pull out of parking spots.
4. Evasive Steering Assist & Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking
With its forward-facing camera and radar, these systems monitor the driving conditions of the road you're traveling on. By doing so, it can detect when a likely frontal collision may occur. If it does, it'll send out an audible warning and visual alert to inform you. If the driver doesn't respond in time, the system kicks in to apply the appropriate amount of brake force.
5. Hill Descent Control™
When you're on an incline, Hill Descent Control™ will keep a set speed to maintain stability as you're descending. It'll also apply the brakes when needed. With this system, you'll remain in control even on the steepest hills.
6. Lane-Keeping Alert
When this system detects unintentional lane drifting, it'll display a warning on the screen. It'll even vibrate the steering wheel to ensure that you received the notification! Then, you can safely correct your steering to remain in the center of your lane.
7. Lane-Keeping System
Like Lane-Keeping Alert, this system alerts you when you're departing from your lane but it goes the extra mile. How? Well, after it alerts you, it'll help direct you back into the center of your lane.
8. Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection
As you're driving around town, if this system detects a potential collision with a vehicle or pedestrian in your path, it'll send you a warning. If a collision is imminent, it'll automatically apply the brakes to prevent the accident or lessen the force of impact.
9. BLIS® with Trailer Coverage and Cross-Traffic Alert
BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert is your second set of eyes on the road. It'll monitor your blind spot zone to alert you to any vehicles in or approaching the sides of your Ford. By doing so, you can merge on the highway and change lanes with confidence. Plus, if you're towing a trailer behind you, Trailer Coverage will also monitor the trailer to give you a head's up if a vehicle is around it!
