The buzz around Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg regarding the Ford F-150 Lightning is tantalizing. The idea of an all-electric full-size truck is a novel one, as Ford will be the first manufacturer to create a vehicle of this kind. How much range will the electric powertrain afford? And what overlaps does this F-150 Lightning have with gas-powered versions of the truck?

We'll know more about the model as it approaches its debut, but our Ray Price Stroud Ford team does have enough insight for a Ford F-150 Lightning preview. When possible, we'll also be happy to arrange a test drive near Lehigh Valley, Nazareth, and Easton!

Taking Advantage of the All-Electric Ford F-150

The electric powerplant of the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning does more than you might think. In addition to impressive range, the truck can basically serve as a generator if your home loses power for any period of time.

We'll start with the all-electric range, which measures 230 miles in standard form, according to EPA estimates. If you want to go further off a single charge, you can choose the extended range variant, which the EPA estimates will go 300 miles on a full charge.

The truck utilizes a 4X4 drivetrain with power coming from two motors and a lithium-ion battery pack. An independent rear suspension helps improve ride quality while the 4X4 allows the truck to send instant torque to all four wheels for enhanced traction and grip.

Finally, the available Ford Intelligent Backup Power system with the accommodating 80-amp Ford Charge Station Pro can serve as a generator for your home if power goes out. With the truck fully charged, it can supply power to most homes for three days or, if you properly ration the power, as long as 10 days!

Technology Continues in the Cabin

The impressive technology of the Ford F-150 Lightning extends beyond the powertrain and into the cabin. The interior is all about connectivity. So, if you choose the available 15.5-inch touchscreen display and accommodating SYNC® 4 infotainment interface, you can easily access different applications using your voice or the touchscreen itself.

There's a rotary knob on the bottom center of the touchscreen which comes in handy when trying to adjust the volume of your favorite playlist or the truck's HVAC controls. With the ability to change drive modes using the screen or prep your truck for a long towing expedition, Ford has also built in a level of practicality which many folks will appreciate.

The Ford F-150 Lightning is One-of-a-Kind

There simply aren't any competitors right now to face off against the Ford F-150 Lightning. Ford is the first brand to delve into what will likely become a burgeoning all-electric, full-size truck market. Eager to receive more updates about the Lightning? Our Ray Price Stroud Ford staff can certainly help you out.

When we receive information about the truck, we can pass it on to you. And eventually, you'll be able to drive this unique F-150 for yourself around Stroudsburg, East Stroudsburg, Lehigh Valley, Nazareth, and Easton!
