Ford F-150 Trim Levels: XL
The base level of the Ford F-150 is the XL trim. This trim is available in several configurations, including a Regular Cab, SuperCab, and SuperCrew cab. The Regular Cab has one row, while the SuperCab and SuperCrew include a second row for additional passengers.
It's also available with an 8-inch, 6 ½-inch, or 5 ½-inch box, with a total cargo volume of 52.8-77.4 cubic feet.
For easy docking, Pro Trailer Backup Assistâ„¢ is available to help you steer your trailer in the intended direction using a knob on the driver's control panel.
F-150 XLT Trim
In addition to everything in the XL trim, the XLT trim comes standard with the SYNC® Voice Recognition Communications and Entertainment System, which allows you to connect your smartphone wirelessly using Bluetooth®. You can then access phone calls, text messages, and music streaming using voice commands, so you can keep your hands on the wheel.
This is also the first trim where BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) is available. This system issues an alert when another vehicle enters your side and rear blind spots, so you know when it's safe to merge.
Ford F-150 LARIAT Trim
The LARIAT trim only makes the SuperCab and SuperCrew cab available and is the first trim to make a 2-speed automatic 4WD system available. This system analyzes your driving conditions and automatically switches between 2WD and 4WD as necessary to provide the best traction. Previous trims required you to do this manually.
It also comes standard with SYNC® 3, which includes an 8-inch touchscreen and allows for full smartphone integration using Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™, so you can use voice commands to access your favorite apps, navigation, phone calls, and music while on the go.
F-150 King Ranch Trim
The King Ranch trim of the Ford F-150 can be configured with a SuperCrew cab and 6 ½-inch box or a 5 ½-inch box.
It comes standard with a remote start system for getting things warmed up and ready to go on a cold winter morning. Also, this is the first trim to make rain-sensing windshield wipers standard. These monitor the weather conditions and turn your wipers on/off and adjust their speed to match the rate of precipitation.
Platinum and Limited Trims
The Platinum and Limited trims are only available with a SuperCrew cab. While the Platinum trim of the Ford F-150 can be outfitted with either a 6 ½-inch box or a 5 ½-inch box, the Limited trim only comes with a 5 ½-inch box.
While both trims come standard with BLIS®, the Limited trim is the only trim to make Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection standard to help you avoid forward collisions.
Ford F-150 Raptor
The Ford F-150 Raptor is a high-performing trim. It comes with either a SuperCab or SuperCrew cab and is only available with a 5 ½-inch box.
For improved off-roading, the Raptor features a 9.8-inch minimum ground clearance, which is a whole inch higher than other trims. It can also tow a maximum of 6,000 to 8,000 pounds.
With this trim, you can select between six different drive modes with the Terrain Management Systemâ„¢ to maximize traction and performance, including:
- Weather
- Mud/Sand
- Rock Crawl
- Sport
- Normal
